Gal Gadot Receives Hadassah’s Power of Dreams Award

This year, the Jerusalem Film Festival acknowledged not only achievements in cinema but also courage in advocating on behalf of Israel.

Standing before a live audience of 7,000 film industry leaders and dignitaries on July 17, Israeli-born international movie star Gal Gadot proudly accepted Hadassah’s Power of Dreams Award, which praises the actress for “using [her] global platform to advocate for truth and justice.”

“This is an opportunity for me to say a huge thank-you for the award to Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, which plays a vital role in the development of medicine in Israel,” Gadot said.

“The decision to honor Gal Gadot was a natural one,” said Hadassah National President Carol Ann Schwartz, who presented the award to Gadot with Hadassah Medical Organization Board Chair Dalia Itzik. “At a time when Israel faces complex and painful challenges, her voice offers clarity and strength. This award is not just about dreams fulfilled. It is about the responsibility that comes with influence and the hope it will continue to inspire,” Schwartz said.

Gadot is the second person to receive Hadassah’s Power of Dreams Award, following actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow, who received the award in 2016.
