SAVE THE DATE: CHW Giving Day 2026
To get a head start on the giving season, CHW is launching a matching gift campaign – November 18-25 – ahead of Giving Tuesday because… why wait? Their Future Starts Now!
CAMPAIGN FOCUS:
CHW’S THE FUTURE STARTS NOW Campaign will support youth mental health and empower students at the youth villages, schools, and therapeutic centres, including:
- Supporting youth through leadership training and development of Jewish identity
- Providing a supportive and calming environment to gain life-skills, personal values, and confidence
- Strengthening parent-child relationships and uniting families through specialized therapy and activities
- Helping at-risk youth gain independence through therapy, educational and workforce integration, and skills training
- Funding merit- and needs-based scholarships enabling access to education and ensuring advancement
*If we exceed our goals for a project commitment, due to donor generosity, we reserve the right to reallocate the additional funds raised to other funding commitments in Israel or Canada.
Together, we can help at-risk youth get a head start on a brighter tomorrow by supporting these five campaign priorities:
Lea Zev Shilman & Joseph Zunia Shilman Therapeutic Programs
CHW Hadassim is home for more than 250 youth referred by the Child Welfare Authority because their home environments are unsafe and unstable. This program helps heal the child and the parent, and create healthier parent-child relations through specialized individual therapy and joint sessions, while receiving the emotional, social, and educational support they need to thrive.
The Ruth & Fred z”l Cooperstock Dairy Farm:
The dairy farm at CHW Nahalal continues to serve as a key educational and therapeutic facility for dozens of at-risk youth, providing a unique and effective environment for teaching values and building life-skills. Students develop confidence, responsibility and teamwork for the dairy farm than just an expansion of the dairy farm. The development of a cheese-making facility and classroom will expand the farm’s scope to production and business skills and allow for more students to take part in its rich activities.
Beit HaTzabrit – Youth Mental Health and Education
The 14 young women that come to Beit HaTzabarat arrive at the end of a road that began long before they were old enough to make their own choices. Growing up on the streets and within Israel’s social care system, most have never known a stable home, a consistent parental figure, or the ordinary childhood most take for granted. More than a residence, Beit HaTzabrit is first and foremost a safe and nurturing home environment where healing can begin, providing therapy and mental health support for young women living with complex trauma and PTSD. But more than that, it gives life-skills training and mentorship that prepare them for independent living, .helps these women pursue educaiton, secure employment, and achieve financial independence.
Jewish Outreach Leadership Training (JOLT)
CHW supports CYJ’s flagship JOLT program for youth tikkun olam. Participants provide a minimum of 20 hours of community service in active, social causes and receive hands-on experience volunteering in the community, thereby developing leadership skills, Jewish identity, and communal ownership and responsibility.

Scholarships open the door to opportunity, ease financial burdens, and empower students to focus on learning, grow with confidence, and pursue their dreams without limitations.
