CHW Lauded for Long-standing Efforts to Support Israel
Idit Shamir, Consul General of Israel for Toronto and Western Canada, who spoke at the CHW Vancouver Centre Opening Luncheon, was quoted in The Jewish Independent speaking to CHW’s long-standing efforts to empower women and children, provide health care and assist displaced Israelis.

CHW Montreal Pro-Am Featured in SJN
As CHW Montreal gets set for its 48th annual Pro-Am for Kids Golf Tournament, the local community is taking notice. The Pro-Am For Kids is the largest charitable Pro-Am golf tournament in Montreal in support of children, partnering with the PGA du Québec to recruit professional golfers for the event. Every team of three amateur players is matched with a Pro to complete their foursome. The pros compete for a $10,000 prize purse..

Local Artists Supporting Hadassah Hospital
Victoria Island artists have contributed pieces to A Work of Heart, CHW’s virtual art tour and online auction benefiting the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Unit (PCCCU) at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. “It was an honour to include some of my works for the auction,” said artist Lesley Friedmann.

New Children’s Book Tells the Story of Hadassah Founder, Henrietta Szold
There has been renewed interest recently in the life of Henrietta Szold, whose name is not as well-known as it should be given that she saved 11,000 children from perishing in the Holocaust and improved the lives of millions of people. The near simultaneous publication of two books based on her life, including the children’s book by author Nancy Churnin (pictured right), finally shines a light on this remarkable woman.

The Hadassah Cookbook: A Window in Time
With recipes by Kate Smith (apple pie), Eleanor Roosevelt (cheese fondue), and then-first lady Bess Truman (bran muffins), it was much more than a fundraiser, and not just any cookbook, but a Hadassah fundraiser cookbook from the Hadassah Danbury Connecticut Chapter more than 70 years ago, titled, Hadassah — The Healing of the Daughters of Our People.
