Canadian Hadassah-WIZO (CHW) is proud to be affiliated with two medical centres in Israel that are considered leaders in medical care and patient-centered treatment. Recently, Hadassah Hospital, Ein Kerem, acquired the world’s most advanced microscope that will change the face of detection, diagnoses, and treatment in patients. The Neurosurgery Department is now using the KINEVO 900, a surgical microscope that provides a visualization system that will enable surgeons to see tumors in high resolution without the need for an eyepiece. The microscope is robotically controlled and allows for precise navigation in microsurgery. Dr. Sergey Spektor, Director of the Skull Base Surgery Center in Hadassah Hospital’s Neurosurgery Department shared the immense impact that microscopes play on brain surgeries, “We need a very good quality magnification… nowadays a microscope is not only used for magnification… it is also an instrument which is part of the robotic operative system.” Thanks to the acquisition of this new medical device, Hadassah Hospital’s Neurosurgery Department is one of the most advanced in the world!
