Supporting at-risk women and children in Israel and Canada.

About Us:

CHW Aterret Chapter (meaning “the crown”) was formed in the fall of 1985, with the merging of two chapters (the former) CHW Atid and CHW Sharret. The original CHW Atid Chapter was formed in 1966 as a single women’s chapter with Patti (Finkler) Friedland as President and a roster of a dozen teenagers (literally!) who were very enthusiastic.

CHW Sharret Chapter began as a chapter for young brides. It was made up of 14 young women, many from outside of Toronto, who were anxious to make new friends and to show their support for Israel.

Sadly, they have lost a few members too early (Sharon Haas z”l and Barbara Jerome z”l) and the members miss them dearly. CHW Aterret is proud that their chapter is a very friendly, social group and has maintained close friendships over the years.

Now in their superb seventies, their members live between mid-town Toronto to Richmond Hill. Distance doesn’t matter – they enjoy each other’s company so much that their members make the effort to attend their events!

“We truly are a family,” says Rena Levy , CHW Aterret Chapter President. “As we said in our bat mitzvah year, ’as a chapter of friends and sisters, may we continue to grow from strength to strength!’”
