Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Shamir Medical Centre
Shamir Medical Center, home to the largest and most sophisticated hyperbaric treatment center worldwide, is a global leader in the research and treatment of PTSD. Their groundbreaking method combines hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) with the expertise of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to treating severe PTSD for 1,000 patients a year.
This innovative treatment was developed for acute, treatment-resistant PTSD and has proven effective in reducing symptoms such as flashbacks, hypervigilance, and irritability, and facilitating a swift return to normal life.
Staff at Shamir Medical Centre have moved patients and treatment into emergency shelters underground.
Due to the current crisis in Israel, there is an urgent need to leverage this unique and effective tool for civilians contending with severe trauma. Supporting the expansion of the PTSD-treatment will enable Shamir Medical Center to provide comprehensive, professional, ongoing treatment tailored to the unique needs of each patient, many survivors of the horrors of October 7. Our support will help heal hundreds of individuals – children and adults – who have endured unimaginable pain, so they can regain hope and rebuild their lives.
