About the Brain Gym:
The Brain Gym is an important component of the Psychological Rehabilitation Unit at Hadassah Hospital. Found within the Occupational Therapy Department, the Brain Gym provides personalized cognitive training to enhance memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. Therapists work closely with patients to ensure that their cognitive rehabilitation aligns with their physical and emotional healing. The integration of cutting-edge technology with individualized care helps to enhance overall mental health recovery for individuals facing neurological challenges, trauma, or stress-related disorders.
About Guest Speaker:
Idit Shemla, Occupational Therapist at Hadassah Medical Center
Idit has been an Occupational Therapist at Hadassah Medical Center since 2013. Throughout her career, she has specialized in rehabilitative occupational therapy in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation department, treating patients with neurological diagnoses, orthopedic diagnoses, and pain syndromes.
Idit holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy, with the Master’s degree earned with honors. Since 2019, she has served as the Service Accessibility Coordinator at Hadassah Mount Scopus, leading initiatives to adapt therapeutic environments and promote accessible services and information for individuals with different disabilities.
In addition, Idit lectures in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, teaching M.OT courses focused on the foundations of physical rehabilitation.
